2024 Spring Master Classes with GM Elshan Moradiabadi

Welcome to our new Master Class, with Grandmaster Elshan Moradiabadi! GM Elshan will teach a Master Class (1600+) Thursdays at 7:30.

Grandmaster Elshan Moradiabadi, an Iranian-American chess player, has a rich history of achievements both as a player and a coach. He won the Iranian Chess Championship at 16, contributed to Iran's team securing third place at the 2008 World Mind Sports Games, and has won multiple medals at the Asian Games and Asian Indoor Games. His peak FIDE rating reached 2603 in 2016. Moradiabadi also excelled academically, obtaining two master's degrees at Texas Tech University and winning collegiate chess championships with Texas Tech University. Since 2017, he has been representing the United States Chess Federation. Elshan has qualified to play at two US championships in 2020 and 2022 by winning the top spot at the US Open.

As a coach, Elshan has worked as the US cadet coach at Pan Am (2019), Head of delegations at World Cadets (2019), and US Open team coach (world team-2019).
